Based in the South of France, Hibou is making waves with his captivating mix of dreampop and indie rock. His new single is called "Resolve To Burn" and it is off of his forthcoming album It Seems To Me out August 8th via Spirit Goth Records. The dynamic multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer will also hit the road for his Pomegranate tour, with dates throughout North America.
With "Resolve To Burn", Hibou takes influence from the likes of the Pied Piper as well as the current U.S. Administration. The song tackles the perils of an ideology filled with false promises and deceitful narratives and how many people fall for these lies. The story is timeless, sad and a cautionary tale. He sings, "And now it's crashing down / Watch as you fall / And succumb to your deafening call," showing this theme. Musically, the song is a contrast to the dark narrative with soaring angelic harmonies, dreamy evocative guitars, and whispered vocals. The song is hypnotic, lush and cinematic creating a one-of-a-kind intimate grandeur. "Resolve to Burn" is a sprawling, elegant masterpiece that invites listeners to contemplate the truth.
Hibou is the solo project of Peter Michel, a true talent who has been creating music under that name for 10 years. Racking up millions of streams and a fanbase all around the world, Hibou has performed alongside Metric, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Phantogram as well as at major festivals including SXSW, Bumbershoot, Sasquatch and Timber. Take a listen to "Resolve to Burn" and get lost in the music!
