Asian refugee artists Star2 and Ler Mu Dex deliver a deeply emotional ballad in “4:00 AM in LA”. The song captures the aching moments of reflection that hit hardest in the late-night hours. Star2, widely recognized for his emotional depth and high-profile collaborations, elevates his artistry with this standout single and visual.

If you’ve ever spent sleepless nights reliving the pain of heartbreak, "4:00 AM in LA" will feel all too familiar. This soul-baring track blends intimate melodies, R&B-laced vocals, and aching vulnerability. In the accompanying music video, Star2 and Ler Mu Dex paint an emotional picture of love lost, as memories flash through Star2’s mind. He brings this feeling to life through images of city lights speeding past on an empty freeway. The imagery lingers, stirring emotions we’ve all felt in the aftermath of heartbreak. Lyrics such as “I’ll never love again / Not like I loved her” carry the emotional core these moments revolve around. A woman in glittering jewelry and glamorous outfits lingers in his mind and her beauty serves as a reminder of the moments he can’t get back. Set against moody visuals of stormy skies, starry nights, and a glowing LA skyline, the video captures that 4AM feeling when it’s just you and your thoughts, and the weight of missing someone.

Star2 escaped genocide in Myanmar, grew up in a Thai refugee camp, and won a lottery that brought him to the U.S. Today, he’s a trailblazing Asian-American artist working with rap heavyweights and building a visual legacy through Adventures of Star2.“4:00 AM in LA” is the lead track in Star2's latest album No Place Like Home, which features artists Sprite, Luh Kel and other rising artists from his hometown. Watch “4:00 AM in LA” for the feelings we’ve all faced but rarely say out loud.
