"Object of Desire" is manny moura’s anthem for the unseen

Sometimes, songs have the power to be deeply relatable—letting you see yourself reflected in the lyrics and recognize moments that were once hard to face alone. Through the music, you realize you’re not the only one who’s had those experiences.

“Object of Desire” is exactly that kind of song. From the first listen, you instantly feel less alone in the emotions that folk-pop singer-songwriter manny moura explores.

Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and now based in Los Angeles, moura’s single is a heartfelt reflection of experiences she has lived time and time again.

With gentle acoustic guitar, honest lyrics, simple melodies, and Moura’s raw and serene vocals, “Object of Desire” feels like a friend—to anyone who has ever felt “not chosen” or “not enough” by society’s beauty standards.

Lyrically, Moura holds nothing back, with raw lines like: “And they like me so much, but never in the way I want,” “Wondering if I was prettier, would you like me more?,” and “If I had a different face and a body petite and fragile. If I was your type, which is everything I’m not tonight. Would you say oh my god, it’s been here my whole life?”

On its own, it’s deeply cathartic for listeners who get it. And for those who don’t, maybe you know a friend or family member who has felt like this—this is a song to send to them.

Moura’s sound is beautifully simple and honest—musically understated yet striking—carrying raw, punk-rock truth in every lyric and message.
