Dutch artist PIEN's debut EP, According to Plan, presents a compelling blend of indie-Americana and introspective songwriting. The EP delves into themes of acceptance and the unpredictable nature of life, delivered with a raw honesty and an authenticity throughout the songwriting. It's a project that sounds like it could be equally from Alabama or Amsterdam. PIEN's vocal prowess shines, particularly in tracks like "I Know," which boasts dreamy melodies and driving rhythms. The EP navigates emotional landscapes, balancing catchy tunes with reflective lyricism.

PIEN describes “According to Plan” as “an EP about finding peace with reality and how unpredictable and unfair life can feel/be sometimes. It’s about accepting that dreams and perspectives can change and that’s okay. This EP feels extra special to me because I feel this is the first time in my career (so far) that I really showed all of my colours and the truest version of myself. It also showcases the best of my vocal and writing abilities up to date. I can’t wait to share this little piece of me with the rest of the world!”

PIEN's journey towards authenticity is evident, as she describes the EP as a true representation of herself and her evolving artistry. Tracks such as "Heet Laatste Hoofdstuk" showcase her versatility, while "According to Plan" embodies the overarching theme of finding peace with reality. Garnering recognition on various platforms, PIEN's music appeals to fans of artists like Maggie Rogers and Kacey Musgraves. The EP is a collection of intimate stories and vulnerabilities, wrapped in layered vocals and carefully crafted instrumentals.

With over 22,000 streams on her previous single "WTF," PIEN's growing momentum is understandable. "According to Plan" is an invitation into PIEN's world, a world of personal reflection and genuine expression.
