Singer-songwriter Grete's new single "Different" is a heartfelt and solemn piece about the growing gorge between two lovers. The modern R&B/soul-infused track is a slow burner that soars from a mellow piano riff into a cinematic piece comprising downtempo but punchy grooves and rich synths. The vocal arrangement is quite interesting and builds on layered vocal stacking, and subtle sound effects that add depth to not only the vocals but the lyrics as well. Here, Grete pours her all on wax as she reflects on someone she loves but realizes how unfamiliar they are becoming each and every day. Lines like "Hearing your voice louder than before/Doesn't make me feel more/Seeing your face, one that I adore/Doesn't do it anymore" underpin her frustration with the relationship and marks her decision to move on for the sake of all parties.
Grete was born and raised in Lithuania and started singing at a very young age which led to her performing alongside ensembles and bands. After gaining much experience she was primed for the big stages in her country. From several TV competitions, theatre performances, and small contests to make it to the finals of The Voice of Lithuania, Grete did it all and decided she needed to broaden her horizons by leaving her home country to start afresh in the UK.
