Passport Rav shares new video for "Trusted Funds" and 'Fly By Night' project

Passport Rav returns with an album titled Fly By Night, an 11-track project which is entirely produced by Romanian producer Darius Lazar and has features from Hus Kingpin, Chung and Emilio Craig.

The project opens up with “Red Eye (intro)” which sets the tone with a reflective theme that ushers in Passport Rav’s frequent journey and tales. This is followed by “Big Jar Smoking”, a soulful track made up of hazy samples and obscure vocal chops and soft drum grooves underpinned by Rav’s distinct stream-of-consciousness raps that take listeners across different time zones. “George Orwell Prophecies” continues the soulful theme with its nostalgia-inducing soundscape while Rav details his life as a go-getter chasing his dreams. “Illustrious Feelings” brings Rav with veteran rapper Hus Kingpin and Emilio Craig and together they deliver a gripping track ripe with reflective and bravado bars. Tracks like “So Profound” and “Trusted Funds” featuring rapper Chung change the tone of the project with their distinct sounds and non-conformist approach. The former is a cinematic track that starts off with lush orchestral strings with scenic pads that slowly build up once the drums come into play alongside Rav’s splendour-driven bars while the latter sees Montreal’s Chung make a rare appearance with her smooth sultry raps over a scenic backdrop.

The project closes out with “The Sun Don’t Chill (Interlude)” and “Everything is Fake”.  “The Sun Don’t Chill (Interlude)” is a mellow introspective instrumental that uses Talib’s intro on the classic Common track “1-9-9-9”  while  “Everything is Fake” sees Rav reflecting on the over-reliance on materialism in the modern world and he is just too weary of fake individuals and prefers to keep his energy in check.
