Uprising Cape Town-based Nigerian Afrobeats singer PaBrymo recently put out his sophomore EP titled CITY BOY via his own Woke Entertainment imprint now he returns with the visuals for the song "Jajo" featuring Seyi Vibez. The title is Yoruba for Let's Dance and it's accentuated by the hypnotic production laid before them. The thumping amapiano kick drums, airy and atmospheric textures and sparsely arranged sound are underpinned by the duo's off-kilter melodic performances. It's all fun for PaBrymo and Seyi Vibes as they deliver aspirational and luxury-themed lines in Yoruba and pidgin English.
The accompanying visual doesn't disappoint and fully taps into the duo's lifestyle as we see a blend of exquisite themes with a touch of reality. Shot in Cape Town, the video takes place in several locations such as an 18th-century cruise ship, the serene beach and busy streets amongst other spots. It sure feels surreal as viewers get transported back and forth between these distinctly different set pieces and colourful aesthetics.
"Jajo" is taken from PaBrymo’s City Boy EP, a 5 track EP that serves as a testament to his artistic evolution, and reveals the unique blend of passion, energy, and authenticity that he brings to the Afrobeats music landscape. Featuring guest appearances from the likes of Odumodublck, Seyi Vibez, and Kida Kudz, the stellar project is packed with five dynamic tracks that are bound to captivate listeners and showcase the rich and diverse style, sound, and culture of his hometown Benin City that has deeply influenced PaBrymo's unique sound.
