Arkansas duo joan have just shared their thrilling debut album superglue. The full length masterpiece highlights the band's ability to craft nostalgic-dipped infectious indie pop songs detailing important and relatable existential themes.

Over the past six years, joan has established themselves as one of the most distinctive duos in the pop music world today. With their expansive and melodic offerings full of warmth, depth and soul, joan often writes about the beauty and challenges in life, packaged in catchy pop rock moments. superglue highlights the band's transformation both career wise and in their personal lifes. Both becoming fathers, the album dives deep into themes including connection, evolution and the joy and struggle found in life.

With "flowers", joan dives deep into what it feels like to grow apart from a friendship that was once so dear. Whether it is a busy schedule, moving locations or just changing attitudes, "flowers" speaks to the question of why that loss of connection happened and the emotional feelings that are left behind. Lush keys compliment, layered strings and acoustic guitar driving rhythms. A delicate vulnerability is heard in the verse culminating into a catchy punchy chorus for an enthralling listen.

Then there is "don't wanna be your friend" an anthem all about moving on, standing your ground and being honest with both yourself and a former lover. The single features candy-coated synths and striking harmonies. With "loner", joan discusses the feeling of being the odd one out but how special it is when you find your tribe. The twosome hopes this song encourages others to be their brave self in the face of adversity. "loner" entices with reverb-drenched, clashing guitars and vivacious melodies.

Title track "superglue" is perhaps the strongest song on the album. Dedicated to the duo's little girls, the heartfelt anthem is all about being there for the one you love. Emotive piano chords combine with cinematic string arrangements and celebrated guitar riffs. Soaring, reflective vocals culminated into a sing-a-long worthy chorus.

A powerful debut evoking a strong emotional response from listeners, joan's superglue is a transformative and soul-stirring album. “I truly believe superglue has something for everyone,” Steven concludes. “Hopefully, everybody in the entire world can hear it… not a hard task,” he laughs.
