"Ain't No Rules" is the newest record from the Three Chillers, the rap trio made up of Copywrite, Awol One and Kount Fif. The record is the latest teaser from the trio's forthcoming album which is scheduled for release this fall Man Bites Dog Records. The track produced by Kount Fif is thick and menacing as the rich blaxploitation-esque textures come in the form of funky wah-wah guitars, dark stabs and a punchy drum break to complete the mission. The title is a clear reminder that we often grow up ignoring all the warnings and guidelines told to us by our folks and neighbours.
Copywrite and Awol One break it down excellently as they take us through the dynamics of being young, dumb and full of crazy bravado but at the end, it all comes to a screeching halt if care is not taken. The guys are joined by DJ Hoppa who helps provide some excellent cuts with vocal samples like "Ain't no rules for this shit called life," which rattles in your head.
