Up and coming bedroom pop act Phoebe Hall explores being in a hidden, queer relationship on “Secrets,” letting us into her innermost thoughts and feelings on introspective anthem led by stripped-back vocals balanced out by powerful melodies and beats.
With anthemic and bold alt-pop sensibilities giving life to deeply emotional impact and turmoil of being in a “secret relationship,” Hall captures the complex balance between yearning to embrace our true selves while also respecting our love’s feelings and emotions.
Speaking of the track Hall says, “I remember feeling quite drained emotionally after writing this as it explored feelings in a way I never had done before. We did a lot of contemplation when writing the record and I think I discovered feelings I hadn’t realised I felt and here it was anger around my past relationship and being hidden in it.”
Following the success of her previous number “Through The Phone,” Phoebe Hall once again reminds us she’s one of the most exciting pop acts on the scene, offering up infectious productions that never shy away from exploring her queerness while reminding us to love ourselves as we are as well.
