LAUNDRY DAY has certainly been keeping fans occupied as they continue to drop singles after the completion of their tour. This reminds true with their most recent drop, “Back to Blonde”. The boy band is a lively group of young teenagers from New York City. They dropped their first project, Light up Shoes back in 2018, and have done nothing but improve since their initial entry onto the scene.“Back to Blonde” is the newest addition to their stunning catalog. To accompany the single, the group released a nostalgic, straight-out of the early 2000s music video, filmed by photographer Camilla Ffrench.
The song begins with Jude Ciulla, the group's lead singer, singing over soft, sparkling instrumentation for the intro. In the video, the group is pictured jamming out to the track on Rockaway beach in Queens, New York. After the intro, the song reverberates with energy, as the guitar melody becomes more intense and Jude begins to sing the chorus. This switch in sound is also clearly reflected in the music video as the shots transition from black and white for the mellow parts to bright colors during the chorus.
After the release of the song, band member Henry Pearl revealed that the track was mostly created in London. The group became inspired after band member Henry Weingartner played the initial guitar riff. Pearl also revealed that some background vocals were done by singer, Matilda Marigolds. The group turned to the social media platform, Tik Tok for promotion, participating in the popular “artificial intelligence” trend. This is where the cover art for the song was born.
LAUNDRY DAY has been pleasing fans for years with their unique and genuine sound. It is easy to see that this group loves not only each other after being together for so long, but they also love making and experimenting with their music. It has been exciting watching them grow over the years, and fans are definitely waiting in anticipation for what they come up with next.
