Northeast musician, songwriter and producer Niagara Moon creates enthralling baroque pop that examines the intricacies of the human experience. His latest single “Bad Vibes” is the first off of his upcoming album Good Dreams out later this Spring.
In “Bad Vibes”, the artist examines how fear and anger can lead to believing misinformation, especially on the internet. There is so much craziness in the world at present day and current events such as the pandemic have led to fear-mongering and the spread of so-called “facts’ that are simply not true. Ultimately, in “Bad Vibes” the artist explores that most people are able to triumph over the negativity and realize what is true and what is false. Sonically, Niagara Moon highlights this disconnect with dream-like soundscapes complete with unhinged lyrics, classically-infused harpsichord and luxuriant guitars. With inspirations ranging from The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and even Nintendo soundtracks, Niagara Moon has crafted a unique sound combining a variety of genres which is beautifully highlighted in his latest single.
Niagara Moon is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist Thomas Erwin. The self-described “Willy Wonka-meets-Thom Yorke composer” formed Niagara Moon during his three year time of living in Kyoto Japan. His music explores themes of aging, spirituality, finding love and navigating current universal crises. The artist can be found frequently connecting with his fans through his own podcast and livestreams leading up to his full album release.
