COL3TRANE realizes being head over heels for someone isn't always enough in his new single "Bag" with Lucky Daye. The groovy track marks COL3TRANE's second single from his forthcoming debut album, Lush Life. The North London songwriter hasn't dropped a project in three years, and now he's ready to make waves again. After being in the works almost two years, "Bag" finally gets a proper release to fan's delight.
The single is a soothing tune that catches COL3TRANE in distress trying to go above and beyond for a woman. The production sounds like a breath of fresh morning air with a hint of subtle synths and elegant piano keys near end of the song. A simple drum kick gives the track its natural steadiness as the lyricist teethers between love and a lust for luxury.
"I gave you the gate key and the bag, still wasn't enough,
Gave you the chihuahua for the bag, still wasn't enough,
Gave you we time, we time, still wasn't enough,
I believed you and your lies, still wasn't enough"
Featured vocalist Lucky Daye sounds right at home on the track with a strong supporting verse of his own. Despite the mood of both singer's verses, the song sounds like a fresh feel-good jam. Their lines of heartbreak and grief are blanketed by this wave of euphoria that sort of floats along the beat.
"Bag" is also a special collaboration as COL3TRANE teams up with Brandon Blackwood to deliver the new song. Given his established love for the luxury handbag company, the singer says he's already excited about his new collab. "I love their designs and efforts to be sustainable and I'm happy we can merge our two worlds. I've always been interested in bridging the gap between different mediums of expression whether it be fashion, film, music, whatever. So I'm glad to be able to do that with a brand that I admire."
