She explains in a recent press release, "At the time of writing, it had no real meaning, which was the intention, but now I actually find meaning in it which is interesting."

GRAE has been writing music since she was ten. After her mother passed away when she was young, her father used music as a way to bond with her. The influence of those records serve as the inspiration for her unique sound. Her 2020 EP, Permanent Maniac, garnered over 5 million streams to date and she just keeps growing.
