The crew over at Mad Decent know how to party like no-one else in the states. Why? Their global perspective. Not only are they reputable in their spreading of popular American music in other countries through DJ sets and remixes, but they are also responsible for bringing some of the best music across the world back to our ears here at home. From the favelas of Brazil, to the dancehall's in Jamaica and the House scene in Europe, they've been at the forefront. And just when you were getting comfortable with what they were doing, enter MALUCA, MD's half Dominican, half pain in the ass, bombshell and new first lady.

Born in the Bronx and raised in Manhattan by Dominican parents, MALUCA is that increasingly rare breed – a downtown girl who brings together the classic cool, glamour, grit and passion of New York City in an instant! After meeting Diplo at a karaoke bar, the two started working together resulting in her debut single "El Tigeraso", an infectious track that draws on her Dominican electro merengue roots. Maluca had her first public performance at the SXSW FADER fort and tore the roof off with a short set that showcased her wide range of influences – from artists such as ESG, Savannah Band, Wu-Tang, Gil Scott Heron, Nina Simone to styles like Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, House, Disco, and Freestyle. Check out the video for "El Tigeraso" below, and make sure to stop back by for more from this rising artist.
