As the entire city of New Orleans is going through a hard time no thanks to Hurricane Ida, multi-faceted artist Voice Monet has reason to find a voice within the craziness as shown on her new aptly titled single "Vicissitude." Currently in a safe space with her family after evacuating the city, Monet proceeds to pen a tale of inner strength and determination amidst the dark clouds. She teams up with longtime collaborator and tour DJ, P.U.D.G.E. who gifts her a house-infused canvas ripe with punchy drums, offbeat synths, and percussions. The production style is juxtaposed against the heartfelt topic of inner struggles adding a silver lining to the moody lyrics. One might say the circumstance is unwelcome but from another view, it opened doors for a better tomorrow filled with hope. Voice Monet is currently working on her full-length project which will see the light of day in December of this year. It will be available in a full-color gatefold 12” with an instrumental and B side packed w/remixes. Besides music, Monet is into hospitality, Southern culture and a podcast Voice Is Hear.
We do pray for the people affected by Hurricane Ida and hopefully, things get better in due time.
