Singer/songwriter/producer Anuka is currently working on a new EP to drop later this year, but in the interim, she shares something different in the form of a new single, "Open Invitation." The record explores a more sensual side of the singer who taps into the spirit of early 2000s R&B with the mellow textures and sultry melodic runs reminiscent of that era.
The self-produced track is built on moody pads, cinematic synths, and chilled but punchy drums that form the perfect backdrop for the sensual vibe and evocative lyrics. Anuka opens up and sends out a call to that special someone for a sexy late-night steamy moment. Anuka's vocals here are light and the layered harmonies come right into the forefront of the chorus section while the verses have a stripped-down feel giving the song quite an organic and nostalgic feel. "Open Invitation" is Anuka's second single leading up to her new EP called Six, a sultry R&B-infused body of work written and produced entirely by Anuka herself.
