GL's irresistible new single "Pistachio" is a tasty debut for 2020. The duo's first release of the year comes along with an announcement for their second album, due for release in September.
"Pistachio" is a sparkly synth-pop affair, channeling '80s house vibes with bright soulful vocals. Notably, it's a sound that has made the electronic outfit from Melbourne a mainstay on Australia's festival circuit. And despite the soaring layers in their music, GL are a compact band of two members: drummer Graeme Pogson and vocalist Ella Thompson (GL stands for Graeme and Ella). Not to mention that the pair wholly wrote, recorded, produced, and arranged all the shimmery sounds on "Pistachio". Similarly addictive as pistachios, GL are a must-listen.
