Buck Meek, also the guitarist for Big Thief, just released a song. Fully written during the covid-19 lockdown, Meek’s acoustic recording was passed on to his band members, who each added in their respective parts – without hearing each others’ changes along the way. The end result was “Roll Back Your Clocks” produced by Andrew Sarlo.
Honest and warm, the song feels like a hug. Giving way to a slight country twang, the earthy vocals and gentle instrumentation make for an exceptionally crafted two and a half minutes of folk rock. Announcing the song’s release via Instagram, Meek described it as “a reminder to trust our telepathic instincts, and to value the connection with our loved ones as something that we always have access to, even in solitude, regardless of proximity.”
“Roll Back Your Clocks” is out now on Keeled Scales. Stream and purchase it via Bandcamp, iTunes, and Spotify.
