German techno DJ/producer Chris Liebing described his Burn Slow album released back in 2018 as something he had always wanted to do all his life. Philosophical in nature, the album embraces the idea of "staying in the now" with subdued textures and hypnotic arrangements. Ahead of the release of the remixes EP for Burn Slow on June 12, a two-track remix EP has been delivered and it includes one from Icelandic producer Bjarki for "Out of this World."
The original is a gloomy downtempo cut, weaving melodramatic synth works and ethereal stabs together while the rest rolling into the deep end. For the remix, Bjarki has smacked the pace up to 142BPM, added layers of frenzied percussions and synth stabs atop an unsettling tone. This grit-driven endeavor yet has a quirky, cosmic foundation with the new vocal samples just as multi-dimensional as tongue-in-cheek. Bjarki nails the juxtaposition, serving up an all-out assault for the dance floors.
