Hidden deep within the seemly innocent suburbs of Sterling, Virginia is the 22-year old singer-songwriter and producer Módl. Amidst the complacency comes his latest single "Loss" – a melodic blend of indie and r&b influences focused on self-discovery.
The former future bass producer turned songwriter presents a relaxed atmosphere complete with smooth guitar, airy vocals and spacious yet subtle sub-bass. Tying together dreamy samples with a compelling 808-based drop, Módl use of strategically placed vocal chops perfectly highlights his electronic roots.
With lyrics stemming from a place of self-doubt "Loss" suggests that we learn to come to terms with our fears and doubts in an attempt to find solitude throughout our struggles. As with the rest of his songs, his vocals are simple yet pleasing – offering a subtle reminder to take a deep breath to enjoy our surroundings.
