For nearly a decade, Fred V wasn't just Fred V, he was Fred V & Grafix. The two built a brand of melodic liquid drum and bass music, and in 2019, decided to try out solo careers. Today, Fred V has released his second solo EP since the duo split, entitled Distance.
As a fan of the duo, it was easy to feel disappointed with the news that they'd be moving on from the project. But with the release of Distance, Fred V has helped those feelings quickly dissipate. A lesson in classic UK drum and bass, it's another view into Fred V's mind as he takes us through percussion, melody, and at times, harder beats. Distance maintains a level of command over us as its energy changes, processed through Fred's newly endeavored singing and songwriting along with his production.
