WOLFJAY is the brainchild of Melbourne-based Jack Alexander. Their music toes the line of youthful angst and the wisdom of someone who's already been through those growing pains.
Their new song, “In Memory Of” was written before they came out as queer but a song they wish they had growing up. It’s that feeling of not belonging and like you don’t fit in, but laced with a cathartic melody that almost makes you feel like it’s all going to be okay. “It’s about letting the past die," they said in a press release. "Killing it – if you have to, because it’s the only way to become who you were meant to be.” You have to know that things will get better once you find your place, it just might take some time to get there and we all need that reminder no matter what stage of our lives we're on.
Through pulsating synths and driving sound, WOLFJAY is firmly ready to take their journey for what it is, no matter how rocky it might be. WOLFJAY is signed to Brooklyn-based indie label Sleep Well Records, which was founded by pronoun. Their EP Together was released last summer.
