Grammy-nominated, Panamanian duo Los Rakas have been creating waves for some time with their blend of hip-hop, reggae ton, and dancehall. Though based more in trap, their most recent album Manes De Negocio showcases a fusion of genres that solidifies their ability to transcend one sound.
While on tour with LatinX band Making Movies, Los Rakas decided to release a new single titled "Ya Tu Sabes" with an accompanying video. As if that weren't enough to get fans excited, they have released a video for "Otra Vez" featuring Youngin Floe, which is featured on Manes De Negocio. It is safe to say the season of giving is here.
Produced by Rua, "Ya Tu Sabes" opens with a somewhat eerie guitar riff that leads into bass knocking 808's. The trap centered production will easily have you bouncing along. Raka Rich and Raka Dun move between rapping and singing effortlessly thanks to a little autotune.
With somewhat dark, bass knocking production as well; Los Rakas are spitting about the struggles they faced growing up in Panama. For this visual, we see them and Youngin Floe in various parts of Panama reflecting on their past.
The Bay Area-based duo are showing no signs of slowing down any time soon, and we could not be more grateful. Catch Los Rakas on the final stop of their Panameri’kana Tour with Making Movies in Seattle tonight at Barboza.
