Ben Esser has spent the past few years behind the scenes in the support of other artists like Noah Slee, but now the producer is ready to step back in the limelight with a new single entitled “Stripes” via Lekker Collective. It’s the first release from the Berlin-based artist since his debut track “Love You More” from 2015 and features guest spots from the New York vocalist emawk and U.K. guitarist Beau Diako.

Even though it’s been a while since Esser’s last release under his own name, “Stripes” showcases an impressive level of musicianship from his time working with artists like Wayne Snow, Jordan Rakei, and Portugal. The Man, among many others. The single reflects Esser’s penchant for deep, absorbing grooves, understated arranging, and an undeniable human touch through his use of analog equipment. Both emawk and Beau Diako slide seamlessly into Esser’s sonic aesthetic with soulful vocals and tasteful guitar flourishes. While Esser has proved to be a producing talent of the highest order for other artists, hopefully “Stripes” is a sign of more music to come under his name in the future.

"Stripes" is available to stream or download here.
