After a two-year hiatus, Toronto R&B crooner Raahiem is back with the sultry “Peak (Fed Up)”.
Weeping guitar chords paint an aura of complete reflection as Raahiem tries to clear the air in a relationship. Moving past ambiguity, Raahiem doesn’t hold back from sharing his side of the story: “Only ever see the worst in me, only ever see it how you want it. I can never say things honestly, so I don’t even care to take it back.” Raahiem thoughtfully questions why love can be so good, but so problematic. Ultimately, Raahiem decides this rollercoaster of love is not for him, as he admits, "I rather break off all the subtleties. A love like this could never work for me."
The purity of Raahiem’s honeyed vocals are showcased fully as he sings prophetically over the slow-winding R&B track, co-produced by himself and Anthony Bastion.
