Stockholm based Mikael Nordgren—aka Tiger Stripes— is back with a fiery EP entitled Into Desolation released via Drumcode. Following the release of Insanity EP last October, Tiger Stripes returns to Drumcode, the beloved modern techno label founded by Adam Beyer. We at EARMILK are so excited to have an exclusive premiere of Into Desolation’s opening track: “Recluse.”
The track opens with an uncompromising kick, followed by tantalizing hi-hats and demonic vocals, making it a dark and energetic number. “Recluse” embodies that distinct Drumcode sound, likely because Tiger Stripes and Beyer both have their roots in Sweden and share similar influences. “Recluse is about escaping reality, going to your favorite place. To leave the fuss behind, I go to my summer house, deep inside the Swedish woods. There by the lake, living like a Recluse for a few days, I set up a mini studio and finished the track.” says Nordgren.
If Tiger Stripes loves self care, then we love self care. I think we could all benefit from taking some time away from our routines to relax, reconnect with ourselves, and live like a recluse.
