You won't 'Believe' who is behind new moniker, Sraddha

King Britt is one of those truly legendary versatile artists that’s known to produce and play all kinds of stuff ranging from house and techno, to hip-hop, soul, and disco. Today he released Believe EP under a new alias, Sraddha.

“In Hindu, Sraddha is the word that represents the ritual paying homage to the ancestors. Whenever I create music or play music, it is my ritual to those who paved the way and to my ancestors who watch over me. You gotta Believe” says Britt.

Believe EP follows the release of Radio Slave’s Ground Control / Last Communication and is the sophomore release on the Rekids offshoot, Stranger In The Night. The labels are headed by Matt Edwards, AKA Radio Slave.

There are two versions of “Believe”; the first is a slow deep house cut sitting at 121BPM that features phantasmal vocals that give the track a bit of an eerie feel. The second version has no drums so it sounds slower and is more ambient. “Memories” includes stunning synth puddles and live sounding drums creating a warm, sultry quality while “You’re All I Need” is an unconventional, almost-nine-minute-long electronic love song.

Believe EP is deeper and more cosmic than Britt’s usual productions, so one can’t help but wonder what’s to come following the announcement of the Sraddha project.

Tracklist:

  1. Believe
  2. Believe (No Drums)
  3. Memories
  4. You’re All I Need
