Kyle Emerson drops visuals for new single "May You Find Peace" [Video]

Denver-based singer-songwriter Kyle Emerson has released a new song and video, "May You Find Peace," the first single from his upcoming sophomore album. The song, which takes on a bit of a shoegaze, electropop vibe (unlike his previous songs) is Kyle's first new music following his 2017 debut, Dorothy Alice, and the video sees him shrouded in darkness save for a bright spotlight, waltzing down a dark alleyway alone, dressed to the nines. Watch below.

“May You Find Peace” is our first preview of Emerson’s upcoming new album (yet to be announced), and as catchy as it is, it's hard to believe it almost didn’t see the light of day, sitting untouched in Emerson’s drafts folder for upwards of six months. The song was almost scrapped, but as he finished up his second album, inspiration struck anew (mainly, as he says, from the uplift of Bill Withers' "Lean On Me"), and thus came the sythwave goodness that . The way makes this a track to add to your library immediately.

“I didn't want to write a sad, woe-is-me type of song," Emerson says. "Everyone's going through something—and I wanted this song to be support for those who are in the thick of it," he explains. The result finds a pulsing and radiant optimism and empathy in Emerson that is also heard throughout the album.

To celebrate the release of new music and his upcoming endeavor, Kyle and his band will also be heading out on a mid-west and east coast tour with Ages and Ages, set to kick off May 29th in Minneapolis and run through the end of July. A full list of dates is available here, and find tickets there as well.
