Cali-born singer-songwriter and activist Amare Symoné's new single "L.B.E (Light Brown Eyes)" is as soulful as they come. Backed by the soothing textures crafted by producer BeatsByCon, Symoné draws the listener in with her enthralling melodies and gripping songwriting.
The song, which is partly inspired by the Netflix series YOU and her experience as a young woman growing up in Brooklyn, talks about obsession in the worst way when it's disguised as something alluring. It starts when a mystery admirer proceeds to pursue a young lady with light brown eyes. This admiration will further lead to infatuation as time goes. Symoné plays out the story in the most subtle but descriptive way, cryptically ending it, "I'll always watch you from afar."
"L.B.E (Light Brown Eyes)" is the follow-up single to Amare's semi-autobiographical Hello Heathrow EP, a project inspired by her journey of living in London. Currently Amare lives in Chicago, where she recorded the aforementioned EP. Get "L.B.E" on Audiomack.
