Ladies and gentlemen, gather round and behold Jachary…a musical universe of which Zachary Levine-Caleb is supreme leader.
The New York based singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Jachary, has created a universe where music is the means of self expression, and where boundaries are meant to be crossed. In doing so, on his debut album There’s A Virus Going On, he easily garnered praise from The Fader, Pigeons & Planes and many more for his unique brand of funk music.
For his sophomore effort, Loops of Life, Jachary stays true to his style and pushes it one step further by recording the whole project to an 8-track tape. In doing so the music has a special warmness and character to it, one that you only get by analog recording. As his first glimpse into the project, he releases "Raincheck," that will engulf you from the moment the first breakbeat drum hits.
"Raincheck," is delicate balance of sounds which to me sits somewhere between Death Cab for Cutie and Sublime. The track swirls with acoustic instruments from horns, to electric guitar and a luscious Rhodes piano, that sit perfectly below Jachary's smooth and convincing topline.
Loops of Life will be out everywhere in summer 2019, so stay tuned if you just can't get enough of Jachary's funky fresh style.
