Sonia Barcelona's visuals for her previously released single "Violent Water" dives deep into uncharted regions with its wildly imaginative aesthetics and storyline. The guitar-driven song started as a 2-track looper that eventually evolved into a passionate expression of vocal emotions. She builds the song from a mellow guitar riff which moves effortlessly into smooth melodies and a rousing climatic chorus laced with huge guitar stabs.
As for the visuals, she teamed up with Las Vegas-based director Danny Chandia who helped bring the song to life with the help of an all Vegas community. Inspired by the groundbreaking work of French illusionist and film director Georges Melies, Chandia and his team take the viewers back to the early days of cinema. In the video, we follow the surreal adventure of a captain of a shipwreck who stumbles upon hidden treasure while Barcelona plays the role of a queen mermaid who eventually rescues him from the jaws of an octopus-like creature. We won't give away much of the story here so check it out.
