LA-based DJ and bass music producer Warden recently dropped his flip of Oliver's Fools Gold Records hit "Night Is On My Mind," and it is a bona fide heavy-hitter.
In a modern electronic landscape where midtempo bass music a-la REZZ and 1788-L is seemingly at its plateau of popularity, it's time for producers to think outside the box with a fresh approach, and Warden steps up to the plate in a big way. At a quirky 108 BPM, the tune rumbles to a bouncy rhythm under crisp percussion patterns while remaining under a dark, ominous sonic umbrella. He puts his impressive sound on full display, however, with the track's thunderous second drop, brilliantly using a ferocious breaks arrangement instead of four-to-the-floor.
