Genre-bending artist Maverick Sabre drops a cinematic visual for his tribute song "Drifting". Armed with a unique vocal style, he delivers an emotional and honest performance that glides over a mellow soundscape. The self-produced single has a nostalgic vibe with melodic guitar arrangement and rich backing groove, adding to the overarching theme of love and brotherhood.
Maverick Sabre makes mention that the inspiration behind the song comes from various visuals he was into at the time, ranging from K-Dot's "Khalil" to vintage Irish cinema. To help bring his thoughts to life, he teams up with director Hector Dockrill (who has worked with Jorja Smith, Ray BLK and Jesse James Solomon) for the video, resulting in a solid homage to the films that Maverick grew up on in his homeland of Ireland. The video was shot in Ballynum, Ireland and features a handful of Mav's friends. The visual concept explores the undertones and ‘underbelly’ of this part of Ireland, filled with nods of the head towards Irish cinema and also playing a part in what the artist plans to be a bigger film.
