The 1975 Slip Into Dancehall Territory on "TooTimeTooTimeTooTime"

Running on the steam from their first two releases of the year, powerful indie rock track "Give Yourself A Try" and politically and socially charged "Love It If We Made It," The 1975 are keeping their energy up and proving to listeners that their upcoming album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, will be far from homogenous from track to track. The English rockers have just released "TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME," the third single from the forthcoming album that shows the band stepping heavily into pop stardom territory.

"TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME" is a rhythmically addicting song with a dancehall sound never before seen on The 1975's discography. In contrast to the previous two singles Healy doesn't sound nearly as angry. But, instead he sounds quite carefree and grounded–remarkably matching the tone of the track. Healy has traded in his deeply profound, existential crisis. Lyrics and angst reach a lighter tone, with an infectious chorus weaving throughout the tropical house beat.

The 1975 seems to be full of surprises this era, and it isn't unlikely that the next single from A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships won't sound like anything we've heard thus far. The album has yet to receive an official release date.
