A few years back, a Twitter account called "The Rapper Emulator" began to put out iPhone notes of verses emulating popular rappers' styles of lyricism. After a consistent stream of crazy bars and the accumulation of a large fan base, the account's followers began to be curious as to who ran the account. It turned out to be Florida-based artist Schama Noel, who jumpstarted his career with one of the most unique marketing strategies in recent memory.
He is back with a new project titled Millennials, which sees his sound develop drastically from his first project, God's Playlist. His music is still evolving, but the lyricism and emotion in each track is unwavering. Sonically, it's a mash of late 90s-influenced hip-hop and modern production and melodies. Millennials dives into a variety of subjects – from addictions to turning up – but comes together under the common theme of the generation. The project dives into the generation's potential but also its flaws. Press play on Millennials from Schama Noel up above.
