Blending jazz, soul, and R&B, Tertia May delivers a brilliant one on this new record. Over lush keys, warm bass lines, she shows off her vocal range drawing the listener deep into her sonic world. The encapsulating horns also lend their dreamy vibes to Tertia's commanding vocals adding more texture to the solid groove beneath. Switching between hushed verses, she ends the track with a sultry spoken word type approach bringing things to a closure.
"Peanut Butter" is taken from her debut EP 'Kind Of Purple' via London based imprint Twisted Hearts Records which was released a month ago. The EP came together during recording sessions in the confines of a remote coastal hideaway, providing shelter from the tempestuous winter winds. Camped out in the house for a month, Tertia built the EP alongside rising UK producer Subculture and occasional visits from label co-director Ariel Cohen who contributed on guitar. 'Kind Of Purple' introduces Tertia May as an exciting rising talent, dishing up an intoxicating blend of pop bravura, soulful nuance and late-night comedown, all wrapped within a genre-shifting package.
