Dylan DeAnda aka Drty explores the emotions and feelings that abuse brings about in a very candid light on his new record "Fiend". He delivers emotionally charged verses over a soundscape mix of funk, soul and some hip-hop elements. Thematically he doesn't go overboard with the analogy and keeps it simple and straight forward with lyrics such as "...I don't see colors in anything/I guess I'm a fiend ..fiending for you/ It;'s true, just tell me what you want me to do and I'll do...". The record's alluring quality is the way they tap into that vintage neo-soul sound and merge it with a modern day twist.
"Fiend" is the latest record from the Dallas, TX. based musician/song-writer who is currently in the studio working on a full length project slated for release later this year. On another note, he gives us a quick insight behind his moniker which he says represents the imperfections that make us human.
