Belgian group YellowStraps hits our pages today with their style of alternative R&B soul tinged with downtempo electro sensibilities. The trio made up of Yvan Murenzi, Alban Murenzi, and Raphael Starkier share their newest record titled "Nights Up."
The track explores many facets of the group's diversity, as we get a hip-hop influenced drum groove – an ethereal soundscape. The main vocals on "Nights Up" are provided by Australian singer, producer, and songwriter Olivia Gavranich, aka St. South, who delivers a chilled out performance that dwells on a girl who wants more than friendship.
"Nights Up" is a precursor to the group's forthcoming debut EP which mixes jazz, soul, hip-hop, and electronic music. St. South's most recent EP Inure was released in November of last year.
