LA electro-pop songstress Kaerheart has released her new cover "For What It's Worth" on the heels of the Women's March. One of the greatest protest songs of all time, her cover of the classic anthem by Buffalo Springfield came about as a collaboration with producer Dead Robot.
On the process behind the cover, Kaerheart said, "I was in a session with my good friend and producer, Dead Robot. We were both feeling outraged and upset about the state of the world and everything going on in our political climate. We wanted to convey that feeling into a song and decided that there would be no better way than to cover one of the greatest protest songs of all time – 'For What It's Worth."
The collaboration between the two is gritty yet powerful, echoing the protests exploding throughout the country at the time that it was produced. Dead Robot wanted the music to embody and convey that energy, bringing an old-school tune to a new generation of angry protestors.
