Win and Woo drop some future pop "Gold" [Premiere]

Chicago production duo Win and Woo are back with their newest original tune, the languid future pop jam "Gold" featuring talented LA vocalist Shaylen.

At a head-bopping 105 BPM, "Gold" falls into that moombah-inspired sub genre of pop music that leans heavily on the use of vocal chops. Those in "Gold" are used brilliantly. Rather than splaying the vocal chops frenetically throughout the drop and making it cluttered, Win and Woo use them sporadically, creating an ethereal feel while allowing the track's delicate production to shine.

Something to take note of: Shaylen slayed her lyrical performance. It's extremely catchy, but there's something dark about it that sets it apart from most of the other pop submissions I receive, which are usually coated with trite, saccharine vocals. When asked about the song's background, Austin of Win and Woo had this to say:

"We're super excited on this record. It's one of those songs that came together almost literally overnight. We flew to LA to write with Shaylen who we had only prior talked to via Twitter and text, and we ended up writing and producing most of this in just a few hours together. It's a really rare thing to just vibe like that right away, so we're glad you finally get to hear it!"
