Precocious Dutch talent Jengi has arrived. The 21-year-old producer is ready to unveil his debut EP Sprinkles on iconic indie imprint TheSoundYouNeed October 13, and EARMILK has the exclusive premiere of the tasty title track. Jan Berendsen has been creating music under the alias Jengi since high school, and garnered viral success (to the tune of 4 million streams) from his smooth collaboration with Kav Verhouzer "Do This Together". Previously most known for club-oriented records, Sprinkles marks a new venture into more organic, downtempo territory for the artist. "Sprinkles" is iced out future house that hits just right – without the crash of a sugar high.
"Nowadays, for me as an artist, it is both exciting and scary to release new music, as people are perhaps expecting similar sounds. With the Sprinkles EP, I present a more nostalgic story about my early days when I was producing music for myself. I have evolved as a producer and DJ, and the Sprinkles EP shows this new side." The newfound introspection evident on this release indicate a artist coming to his own, and an ever-evolving talent to watch.
