The Brooklyn-based soul collective Space Captain dropped the twinkly track titled "Blue" yesterday. The guitar strums flutter, the horns soothe, and Maralisa Simmons-Cook's voice swims across the soulful soundscape. "Blue" follows their wavy, experimental first single "Sycamore" and arrives before their debut album All Flowers In Time expected October 27th via Tru Thoughts Recordings.

Space Captain mentions on their Bandcamp page,

“Blue” is a deeply personal, melodic exploration by singer and songwriter Maralisa Simmons-Cook into experiencing a feeling of numbness in the face of emotional trauma; “I’ve discovered a feeling of numbness after experiencing so many disruptive things that I no longer feel shocked or bothered by emotional trauma anymore. It’s a wall I’ve put up.”
