Marsicans debut an ode to their "Friends" [Premiere]

Growing up kinda sucks. The Leeds, England-based indie rock band Marsicans tell it like it is on their latest single “Friends”, a nostalgic ode to simpler times and the people who've always had our backs.

Marsicans are bursting onto the indie scene. Long-time friends, the band's have defined their sound through sampling old synths, fuzzy guitars, and rich harmonies. Notorious for their high energy shows, Marsicans have supported Catfish and the Bottlemen and Hippo Campus, and will play a 9 show headline tour throughout February and March.

The track thumps and drives with gritty guitars, a funky bassline, a punchy kick and soaring harmonies. Abrupt drop-outs and unexpected builds give the song its fun, quirky character. The attention to detail, the nuanced guitar motifs, everything comes together to create an exciting and polished product.  I just love the way the song grooves; it’s a refreshing break from the cookie-cutter alt-rock that dominates the airwaves today.

“Friends” is the first of series of releases scheduled for 2017 via LAB Records.
