Allow me to introduce Amon, your new favorite San Diego rapper. Yesterday he dropped his latest track, “Amen” and it’s a beautiful thing. Featuring backup vocals by Sabre and productions by Itz Tha Spaceman, “Amen” sees Amon urging all of us to take a step back and see what’s most important in this crazy world of ours.

It’s hard to imagine Amon dropping this one during the holidays on accident, and as such, I really dig the vibe he’s going for here. The productions are melodic and warm with a simple guitar loop that helps to further bolster the SD emcee’s message.
It’s great to hear a young rapper vocalizing a positive message like this, and even nicer to have it come off as genuine. Though I appreciate a positive song when I hear one (it certainly beats the alternative) a lot of rappers can come off as corny when they try to do too much. Amon seems right at home in this lane, no doubt that beautiful SD weather has something to do with it.
Amon just put together a very dope playlist which can be found on his SoundCloud the other day, and I urge all of you to give it a listen. Specifically, peep the track “Pushin” that features a killer Lupe Fiasco flip.
No news at the moment on any full-length projects or albums, but believe me when I say that Amon is a young talent to keep an eye on. So for now, press play above and be sure to keep your eyes and ears on EARMILK for more news on Amon.
