Dallas-based duo The Dividends release beautiful track “People” [Premiere]

Dallas-based duo The Dividends (S1 and Sarah Jaffe) created a stride for themselves in 2013, when one of their first collaborations, "Bad Guy" ended up on Eminem's MMLP2. Ever since then, they have clicked sonically and gone on to create more great songs together, like "Fool's Gold" ft. Raekwon. A collection of seven new songs will finally see the light on June 24th through their release Far From Away (Vol. 1) r — a seven-song cassette/ USB only release that will coincide with their first headlining show at Trees in Dallas. In celebration of their forthcoming release and show, the duo shares with us "People." It's a stripped down shimmering contemporary r&b that boasts a shimmering beauty and simplicity. Crisp hip-hop bass and sweeping synths create a vibrant aurora to the song as the song resonates the chorus, "people loving people, is how it's supposed to be." It's a beautifully crafted track and really shows the diversity in the Dividends, spotlight Jaffe's strong vocals and songwriting and S1's impeccable production and inventive instrumentation.
