Danny Brown has joined his old pal Rustie on illustrious British label Warp Records. Originally known for housing IDM prodigies like Autechre and Boards of Canada, Warp has diversified a lot lately, but today's news is certainly a little surprising. I'd imagine there are some 35 year-old Aphex Twin superfans out there shaking their heads at Warp's shameful fall from greatness, but for everyone else, it's a match made in heaven.
With the news comes Danny's first single and video, "When It Rain." It's a high-intensity track, but partying doesn't seem to be on Danny's mind this time around. His delivery is so fast and chaotic that it's hard to keep up with him, but he's dead serious, that much is clear. No album announcement has come yet, but that's the way things are looking. Danny says:
"With the blessing of my Fools Gold family by my side, I'm excited to be working with Warp on new material. They're music fans to the same high degree I am and I'm looking forward to breaking some rules together."
