The difficulty in remixing a modern day classic is the possibility of bastardizing it's authenticity. What often happens is the original is essentially stripped down to suit to an artist's form of self appreciation by binding it to their aesthetic. This is the main reason why producer's shy away from touching great classics, with the understandable notion that it may not do the original track justice.
When I discovered that upcoming producer k?d had added his own spin to electronic music pioneers Daft Punk "Doin' it Right", I was excited and nervous at the same time. K?d has been constantly releasing exceptional remixes that completely flip the nature of a track with a transcending skill that pushes work into an other-worldly realm. Little did I know I'd be blown away by the producer's solid production and tactful construction of synths to breathe a new life into the Random Access Memories classic.

The track commences with an innocent almost child-like sparkle of synths, eventually married into the iconic vocaloid of Daft Punk. A throbbing of bass in juxtaposition to striking drum work build up tensions that lift up listeners into a synthetic cornucopia of feels. The vocaloids are whipped through a contemporary blender, to paint over the three year old classic with k?d's grandeur aesthetics. Incessant slips of silence and glitch into the drop are reminiscent of beloved Porter. The squeaky melodies over a indelible arpeggio toward the end implement a jarring sensation. k?d's poignant compositions in this homage remind us of the allure in electronic music and it's ability to blur lines between man-made medium and raw emotion.
