I'll be honest: Big Grams completely flew under my radar. I grew up on Big Boi and have given Phantogram some spins in the past, but for some reason, I fell asleep at the wheel when they dropped their self titled EP (don't worry, I've since learned the error of my ways and have listened to it multiple times). Although I was expecting them to come through with a music video, I had no idea that the final product for "Born to Shine/Run For Your Life" would turn out like this.
In the first part of the chaotic animated video, BG grab Run The Jewels to knock some doors down and grab the women of their choosing, while in the second part, we see Daddy Fat Sax exploring a house full of horrors as we hear the sultry vocals of Sarah Barthel. At nearly 9 minutes, it's one of the most inventive videos of the year and deserves multiple viewings, especially since the music fits the narrative so well. Check it out down below and enjoy.
