The winds are a changin'. Rock and Hip-Hop collabs are definitely not new but there is a rise in rock/hip-hop collabs as of late. The recent collaborations have been amazing but I definitely didn't see this one coming. The Black Keys have teamed up with Jim Jones and launched a new project called Blackroc. Their debut album will carry some heavy weight with guest appearances from artists such as: Mos Def, Q-Tip, Raekwon, the late Ol' Dirty Bastard, RZA, Ludacris, and Pharoahe Monch to name a few.

The track posted here is called "Hoochie Coo" and this track definitely showcases the amazing power that can be brought with a hip-hop/rock colloboration. Got some nice rock-esque drums and then you got the lyrical flow of Mos Def and Jim Jones and you got a hot track. Also there is a video trailer of the album below. Check them out below:

Like many, I started my musical education while engaged in playing classical music in school. What began as a simple adolescent activity, quickly transformed into a deep love and appreciation for all forms of music. This love would continue to grow and manifested itself into the form of becoming a Co-Founder of EARMILK. This online music publication has become my outlet to spread all genres of music to those impressionable people, much like me. And, much like you, i'm often literally waiting for the drop....
